Opened on schedule and in time for the Fall semester, Hawaii Pacific University (HPU) students now enjoy this signature kitchen by renowned chef Sam Choy and primary dining hall. Contract scope started with a full interior gut, hazmat abatement and extensive MEP upgrades to create a 2,380sf full-service kitchen and nearly 4,000sf of indoor/outdoor dining. Working around HPU’s final exams schedule and surrounding tenants plus increased environmental regulations along harbor edge intensified the project complexity. New storefronts, railing enclosure, upgraded dining area finishes and all new kitchen equipment create an enjoyable waterfront dining and gathering area for HPU students.
